Once you have selected the perfect invitation ensemble, make sure it is sent with the same attention to detail and beautiful style. To increase the elegance and efficiency of the mailing of your invitation, follow these guidelines:

1. Address your envelopes in beautiful handwriting. This is your way of personally inviting each guest to your celebration. To enhance the elegance of your handwriting use calligraphy pens of colored inks to match your invitations.

2. Guests' names should be written in full. Do not use nicknames or initials and include titles and middle names when possible. Titles should also be written in full such as Doctor instead of Dr. These formalities are observed to stress the importance of the occasion.

3. Do not use symbols on your invitation envelopes. Words such as "and" should be spelled out.

4. The street address should also be written out in full with the exception of the house number and zipcode. In addition, cords such as street and avenue should not be abbreviated nor should the city and state.

5. If you would like to invite children to the ceremony, include their individual names on the inner envelope below the names of their parents. It is not appropriate to use the words "and family." Older children should receive personal invitations.

6. If you do not wish to have children at the ceremony, do not write "No children" on your invitation. This is not socially acceptable and the situation is handled more gracefully by simply omitting the children's names from the invitation.

7. Address your wedding announcements following these same guidelines. Mail announcements immediately following the wedding.
